David Claxton has dedicated over 30 years to public education. Claxton started his teaching career as a Special Education Teacher. He then transitioned to Assistant Principal then Principal, before serving as Jackson Parish Superintendent for the past 9 years. Claxton has also served for four years in the state office of the LASSA organization, holding positions from Secretary to Immediate Past President, before retiring on June 30 of 2025.
